Airboat Adventure

I recently took an airboat tour in Fort Lauderdale — and of boy, do I highly recommend taking one! I saw multiple alligators, some crazy looking birds, and a ton of other wildlife. The Florida Everglades offered way more beauty than you would expect from a swampland.

The tour guide was also a lot of fun. I went with a couple girlfriends for a girls-only trip. We brought some white claws while the guide shared surprisingly interesting facts about the Everglades.

What To Take With You

I’m terrible at planning. So I wanted to make sure to go over a few things I wish I would of had on my tour:

  1. SUNSCREEN! And then more sunscreen. That Southern Florida sun is brutal.
  2. Flip-flops or sandals. Unfortunately, a few of us had the misconception that we would be hiking? Our sneakers were soaked by the end of the tour.
  3. Bug repellant. This should have been an obvious one for us, but the bugs out there are horrid. It’s to be expected with such a swampy area.
  4. Cooler with snacks and beverages. If you’re over the age of 21, you’re legally allowed to drink on the tour. I wish we would have brought some snacks though for some extra energy!
  5. Camera. Don’t forget your camera! My friend was able to take beautiful pictures of the sun setting over the Everglades.
  6. Hat and sunglasses. Seriously, that sun is no joke. Add some extra protection!
